Flight Summary

California
Stone Canyon San Andreas earthquake lines, second flight. This was also the second flight of the day. The Rosamond calibration lines in this plan are vestigial, since they were already successfully collected on the morning/early afternoon flight 17126. Radar operation was nearly perfect with the exception of one line. A radar malfunction occurred on the last line planned, SanAnd_14003. Either at the line beginning or midway through the line, the channel 2 (V-receive) readback of rangelines was inflated to an unreasonable amplitude on the time domain plot. At the end of the line, the DAC rlogin messages confirmed different byte lengths for the channel 1 and channel 2 science files. Suspect an ADC synchronization issue. Pilots elected not to refly the line, since its length and position meant that doing so would have added almost an hour to the flight, pushing against the airfield closing time of 10:00 pm. Flight duration was 4 hours and 17 minutes. The DGPS archive for this flight is DGPS_369.tar.gz.
